TOP 50: SCARIEST PSAs
This is a countdown of 50 of the scariest and creepiest Public Service Announcements (PSAs) ever produced (mainly from the US and Canada).
Sit through almost 40 minutes of fear arousal advertising at its very best – from PSAs about drugs, workplace safety, global warming, domestic violence and more.
Please note that the first few ads act as a “warm-up” – the ‘scariness’ picks up after the first 5 entries or so.
HOUSE HIPPO AD
To clear up a few things, I’ve had a large number of people ask me about the House Hippo ad and why that was on the list. Although it’s not essentially “scary”, at the time of making this countdown I was working with a “Scare factor” rating. I would start from 0 (least scary) and eventually work my way up to 10 (most scary), hence why the first couple of entries in the countdown are not considered “scary”. Hence why the countdown starts with a commercial that is not scary in the slightest. Although the thought of a house hippo running around your bedroom floor while you sleep is quite terrifying…
I hope this clears a few things up for those of you who find it absurd that I included the House Hippo CCA commercial.
